Anyone ever have this problem? Every once in a while an ant comes crawling across the keyboard. Yikes ! Are they inside the computer? How can I get rid of them? I suppose it's because I often eat while on the chomebook and something must be attracting the ants. This has never happened to me before.

Food on your fingers or crumbs dropping into the computer might be the cause, make a boric acid and sugar mix and put it next to the laptop and maybe elsewhere in your home, if there are some then there are more.

I use this method but since we have no children or pets, I use a few open small containers with soaked cotton balls, then I leave it for 8 hours or so while watching the ants go back to the nest, then I spray the entryway with Raid once I have given the ants more than enough time to poison the queen. Either way, put one near your laptop and watch the ants come out and see where they are originally coming from.

Where are you? If at home go to the big box store and get a spray for bugs that you use every month for bugs. Maybe Home Defender. Also get a can of ant spray and spray where they are. I don't think the ants are coming inside your home just for the key board meal.

I assume you have some food under the keys on the key board. You can try and blow the food out with a can of compressed air.

I would not spray the key area of the keyboard. But spray the back and the area around the computer.

Insert computer into a plastic bag and seal, place in refrigerator or freezer for 24 hours. Be prepared to repeat.

If you have Raspberry ants, you may want to dust your entire place with boric acid powder or diatomaceous earth.

Look at Youtube for videos of how to clean your laptop's keyboard.
Always power down and remove the battery, just to be safe, then:
Compressed air, and then a deep wash with alcohol and a cool-setting hair dryer to evaporate what's left is what I'd suggest.
And maybe put some bait traps between your workspace and the outside to trap 'em on the way in.
