This is exactly like breaking into a house to plant a bag of drugs. It can be done, and it's not that hard if you know how. (I don't).
However, an expert could probably find the tracks left by someone who was less of an expert.

Most computer hacks happen when the victim is convinced to click on a link in some email. (either the email, the link, or both falsified).
That link opens up a web page and downloads the virus package. This is an executable file that is auto-run after it's downloaded. This package will do whatever it's been written to do. Some are written to encrypt it for ransom, or to stealth-echo your key-presses to get bank login data, turn on your webcam, and such.
There's no reason that this package couldn't also be designed to auto-download a legally-toxic file to be used as a plant.

Again, a regular person might not be able to tell this happened when it happened, or later, but an actual expert can check the logs of the internal computer applications, the router, the Internet Provider, etc.

I have no doubt this has been used many times.

Child porn is one of those things that just an simple allegation is an ultra easy and convenient tool to instantly and effectively discredit a target.

Imo, the agencies and people who are involved in such things are FAR FAR worse than people who actually have child porn, in that they have no problem 'using' such a thing to their benefit.

In my opinion as an electronic engineer and software developer with BSEE degree, I believe it can be done but I don't know how to do it. And I don't wanna know how to do it.

You can make a computer do whatever you want once it's been exploited. A lot harder if the computer is never on the internet because you need physical access but there are malware that can lay dormant until there is internet access and start doing it's thing.

There's an old saying, "If I can get my code to run on your computer, your computer is pwn3d!"

I figured out how to do it but I'm not going to tell anybody how. (to put an image on somebody's computer)

Kids, don't try this at home. If you get caught you'll do time for possession of CP.

Has been used Yes (I won't say how I know, just say they got caught) but I doubt the "many times"

I consider it the same as murder, as I know of one person who committed suicide after being falsely accused.

Unless you are the fed's. All they got was a reprimand.

There was a local case where police suspected this guy was a drug trafficker, but for some reason were having trouble getting a warrant to search his home....eventually they received an 'anonymous' tip that he MAY have child porn on his computer, suddenly law enforcement had the warrant to go in and search...it was on the news about all the drugs and cash they found, they were so glad to get all this off the street, except that....

nothing was ever mentioned again about the supposed child porn.

Ummmm, there aren't any questions remaining in this thread,
that I can see. Did you mean to post here:
Amazon - what do you think they should do differently?

Or are you saying you have the ability to place a file on someone else's computer?
(Personally, unless they were paying me, I wouldn't even admit to having that skill.)
