Interesting fact about CCleaner Professional (Purchased one year service)

After the contract is over they tell you to renew for a certain cost,
In my case it was $24.95 plus applicable sales tax.

A bit of lurking on the web ...

You can download the Pro version for $19.95 plus applicable tax.
Same Pro version, same one year contract ...

Interesting way to do business ...

Yes, I have used it for years. I bought it years ago - and it was a 1 time purchase. I do not think I'd pay a yearly fee for it like antivirus programs charge, however

I've used and been satisfied with the free version for years. I'm uncertain what the advantages of the upgraded package are - but, have avoided it to stay out the auto-subscription loop.

I've been using the free version of CCleaner as well and have been very satisfied with it.

I have been using it for so long, I can not remember anymore why I went to the 'paid for' subscription.

I do know that I want to keep certain cookies when I close the browser.
This allows me to go back to known safe sites without filling in old data over and over.

I like the duplicate file finder. That's about all I use it for anymore.

I use the free version. Good enough for me. On another note, I also tried a program called PrivaZer https://privazer.com/en/
and it was scary what it found that ccleaner did not. I haven't had time to really dig into it, maybe someone here does, but privazer found traces from a lot of sites that ccleaner left behind. Maybe its default settings are much more aggressive (*use with caution), but if you think ccleaner is truly sweeping up behind you, you're in for a shock.

Thanks for the info on Privazer. I downloaded and installed. The right-click permanent delete feature alone is worth using the software.

Another way of saving money if you use the paid for version of CCLEANER.
Just keep waiting to renew and they will come up with an offer even lower than what I found ...
Oh well, it was only a dollar less, but now I wonder ...
How much longer to wait for another lower offer?

I use the paid version and I let it auto-renew. It's not worth my time to find a way to save 5 bucks.
