If the light on the computer is on then press and hold the power button until the computer shuts off. This can take 10 seconds sometimes. If that doesn't work unplug it, then plug it back in.

Restart.

If this doesn't work it may be that the power supply failed and needs to be replaced.

Conjecture only since I'm not there...

Ok, so you have no power at all to the machine? Nothing is on?

Ok first step is to "check the obvious".

Is everything plugged in and are all of the switches turned on.

Check the wall plug, power strip, is the wall plug contoled by a light switch, etc...

Look at the back of your machine, there is a power switch there usually as well. Make sure it hasn't been turned off (switch usually has two signs on it an [ O ] means off and a [ - ] means on.

If that is the case, what could I do??

What should be done??

And if I have to buy something, what would the price of that part

What brand of computer is it? Can you find a model number?

After 25 years in the business I can say I have no idea what would be blocked.

Like TEK Freek says, sounds like the power supply. ON some models there is a light inside the power supply that when powered up you can see if it is on or blinking. Some powersupplies give you an error code. From what you describe I think this is your best cause.

Smile Thank you!

I was online, and then the mouse stopped working, so I unplugged everything,

after I did that, the light on the keyboard was OFF, and the computer would

NOT turn on at all! I restarted everything, and nothing.....

The light on the computer, screen are on, but the light on the keyboard is

off, and the computer will not turn on, at all.

ITS A DELL computer

Thank you so much!
