Without going into the gory details, the computer where I had my I-Tunes stored went belly-up. I still have all the songs on my Ipod. Is there any way to transfer songs from the Ipod to a new computer?

Money isn't the factor here, as I only had downloaded maybe 50 songs. But the other 1100 or so songs were ripped from my CDs and I'd love to not have to take that kind of time again. But I don't know that I can load more songs onto the Ipod without losing what's on there if I don't reconstruct the whole I-Tunes.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

You will need some third-party software to access the music files on your iPod from a computer, as that capability is quite deliberately not included in iPods to limit music sharing. Will you be recovering the music files onto a Mac or PC?

It's a PC.

Thanks for the link, Radek. I'll give it a try.
