I have Spybot on two systems. It's version 1.5.2. Both computers are running XP SP2, one's a desktop and the other a laptop.

The confusion revolves around the 'immunize' feature. On the laptop most all of the bad stuff is blocked, 81,427 types of spyware. The number of unblocked things is a small 1,530.

On the desktop computer, the situation is reversed. I am unprotected against 90,000 types of spyware and only protected against 19,000.

To provide more detail, I have 8948 "global hosts" on both systems. On the laptop all but 170 are protected and on the desktop pc, none of them are protected.

Something is not right with this picture. Why would two installations of the same program have different levels of protection and both are up to date with the latest files.

I just updated and immunized my Spybot. It shows:
Unprotected -- 191
Protected ----- 65345
Total --------- 65536

I'm not sure what "global hosts" are.

WHat happens when you click the immunize button? Are all the check boxes checked before you immunize?
