Does anyone have a suggestion of a site from which a mp3 player can be downloaded. I want to listing to an NPR archived clip but need a mp3 player do to so. I've done a Google search but find the results confusing. Have also searched this board, but didn't find any posted related to this. Thanks!

I thought that Windows Media player would play MP3 by default. I just tried one on this PC and it worked.

Sometimes Windows Media Player is affected by a computer virus and hence it won't work with MP3 playback - weird, yes but this is M$ LOL!

There are a few here that you might take a look at. Not all are simply mp3 software, though.

Have you tried checking the file associations to see what is associated with mp3? You may be able to associate it with the Windows Media Player (or some other program) very easily. Seems to me this could be a simple fix if some program grabbed the file association and then later got uninstalled. I've seen similar things happen with picture editing programs.

yeah, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to play mp3s using Windows Media Player.
