Howdy! My computer recently crashed. I have restored everything and reset all my applications and settings for the most part, but I'm having a problem with my mouse. When I scroll down with the wheel, the page scrolls down in waves instead of a continuous, smooth movement. This is driving me crazy! I believe it's a setting I'm missing somewhere. I've gone to mouse settings and nothing has worked. Any clues would be wonderful! Thanx So Much!

This isn't a mouse issue, it's your video driver. If you have a name brand PC, visit the manufacturer's web site and get the latest video driver, or if it's home-built, get the driver from the manufacturer of the video card.

Also, before you do anything else, and if you haven't already done so, make sure you visit http://update.microsoft.com/ and make sure that all your Windows updates are installed.

Edited to add: If you haven't done the Windows updates, that may resolve your problem with no need to visit the manufacturer's site.

Try a couple of things:

Start>Control Panel>Mouse>Set the wheel to roll 3 lines per click.

Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced>Performance Settings Button>Choose Adjust for best performance

When you click OK the screen will go gray then come back in color.

What Browser do you use?
