On one of my laptops I noticed the trash can icon is gone from the desktop. It's running Windows XP Pro.

I can right click and send things to the trash, but the icon is nowhere to be found.

I would rather use something like Inferno, so when I delete something it is deleted forever, and chopped into a million little pieces. I just make sure I really want to delete whatever it is I want to delete.

The information above will allow me to get rid of the recycle bin. Thanks.
