I just got a new Toshiba laptop - Satellite 305D-S8828. My problem is that the keys seem to have a mind of their own. For example, as I'm typing a word document, or post (like here), I'll be typing along and all of a sudden, the cursor will jump two lines BACK or several words or lines back, and instead of typing "forward", I'm adding letters and words to what I've already typed. The keys are extra-sensitive it seems. Also, just by barely touching a key, the browser will jump to another website I just visited or had visited that day and everything that I was just working on becomes lost. I have to start all over again. Seems that the problem is that the keys are very sensitive. How do I adjust the settings so that the keys are not so sensitive. Thank you for ANY help anyone can provide.

Try turning off the touch pad (right click the little square icon in the lower right of task bar) and using a USB mouse instead. I think you'll find that takes care of the issue until you can get a replacement.

My wife has to cut out a piece of cardboard and cover the touch pad when she types. The pad seems to be very sensitive to her, but I have no problem with it. Mine is turned off and I use a USB mouse because I simply can't work on it with the pad running.
