You know, I really get tired of technology making obsolete stuff to where I have to spend money just to keep up with using my existing equipment.

I have a Sager laptop that's about 4 years old and I have AV equipment that use the PCMCIA (or Cardbus) slot to interface. Recently I had considered selling my laptop for a newer model, but after I found out that none of the new ones have the Cardbus slot, just the ExpressCard slot I changed my mind.

So now I pretty much have to keep my existing laptop (which works fine, no problems) and forget about buying a new one unless I can find a way to seek out an adapter to where I can still use my hardware that uses PCMCIA into ExpressCard.

I heard that there may be such an adapter available, but don't know much about it. Is there such available?

I'm not an AV expert - but what is the interface for? Is it to transfer data from the equipment to the laptop? Or is it for storage devices?

You may look into upgrading the cable or the medium used to one that supports expresscards. That may be better than looking for a PC-Expresscard adapter. They do exist... but I'm not sure you want to mess with that with AV data.
