I'm pretty sure anything is safer than IE. IE has gotten a lot better since 7 came out but its still the #1 most targeted browser.

Apparently we do things differently. This doesn't happen to me.

Chris M, I also think the trojans can be dealt with. I think just about anything can be taken out.

If there is still trouble, download HijackThis to its own folder on the desktop, find a site that deals with hijack this issues, and tell them the problem. Some prefer that you not immediately post a HijackThis log, so I'd follow their lead and do what they ask you to do. Oh I forgot, don't run HijackThis while other programs are open.

BTW, I think trojans are not considered to be viruses.

How do you get rid of a virus? I bought a new computer after I could not get rid of this big red eyeball that had bio hazard symbol behind it. My other computer is only about 1.5 years old so I would like to reuse it. The eyeball shows up after about 10 mins. I kept shutting it down and restarting but I got tired of doing that every 10 mins. and it was unpredictable, sometimes porn would pop up.
