I used to have dialup, and used Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy all the time, but I think they've grown quite a bit since then. I was using a puny Win 98, too.

Maybe the Threatfire updates won't be too big.

Do you have access to a high speed connection at work? If you do, see if you can download the updates there, then bring them home on a USB drive and install them. Right now the update file is over 20MB which would be a killer with dial up.

If you do decide to do this, be sure to turn off automatic updates in the program so it doesn't keep trying to download them.

I was able to put them on CD at the library & installed them !
