Those are iTunes videos. If they're DRM you might have troubles without iTunes. If not then you might try renaming the extensions to .mp4 or use quicktime to watch them.

About the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

This is a codec pack that will let your comp play just about anything. It's great and supports most all file formats

I'd suggest never installing codec packs as you might end up causing many problems. Some people never have a problem with them and for others it becomes a major headache. What happens is you may already have a codec installed to play a particular video or an application may install one in the future. They start "fighting" over who is going to render what and the end result is the files won't play.

Instead download and install g-spot (don't laugh that is the name).

GSpot Codec Information Appliance

If you can't play a file this application will tell you what codec you need to install, install that codec and only that one. A variety of codecs and links to them can be found here:

Codecs

Lastly you can also install VLC which comes with iit own codecs and does not install them on the system, this will play nearly anything.

Absoultly, Vista is just what Hollywood wanted, draconian digital rights management of your computer. It is called a feature, but you loose.
