The link goes to the main page, I'm assuming by the title they are little programs you can install on someones machine?

Then people wonder where they get viruses and malware? There's a lot of bad stuff you can install on a machine that will never be flagged as a virus or malicious simply because you agreed to it during installation and those small little programs and a lot of "free" stuff is commonly infested with such crap that comes as an extra payload. No one ever reads those long agreements and the makers of such software will bury these conditions in the EULA... you agreed to it now you have it.

Pranks are fine as long as they are not destructive but if you're installing something you're certainly risking being destructive. I'd strongly suggest sticking with the ones that can be done within the existing environment. If someone installed something on my machine as a prank they'd be lucky if they still had their teeth after I found out.

Yeah, there was no way to get an URL for that specific part, so I just had to point to the desktop section, where you could find a link for pranks. I believe these are harmless.

Obviously the place with the most opportunities to pull such childish pranks will be at work.

I'm sure the IT department will not see the humor, and I suspect that it will violate the terms of use that most companies have in regards to what employees may and may not do on company computers, a resource they have to run their business.

I would never pull such a stunt, especially at work. Yeah, good point. I once caught somebody at work who was doing some bad stuff to a wiki article. I didn't know where it came from first, not until I had done a trace. Of course, such incidents are considered private, so I didn't know what happened to the employee or who it was.
