When I send emails from Outlook (and also when using my webmail), the font somehow changes from the 12 pt. Arial that I sent it in to 8 pt. Times New Roman when I get a reply. Instead of retaining the font in which it was created, it changes and gets smaller in the outgoing email that comes back with a reply. I also noticed that if I copy text from an email that is presenting in the 12 pt. Arial into a Word document, it pastes it in Times New Roman. My default is always 12 pt. Arial so how and why is the font being changed? What the heck is going on?

Try clicking on tools/options/mailformat/fonts. See if that's where the problem lies. It gives you an option of what kind of font you want to use in emails, and what kind you want responses in. Good luck..

Word doesn't know or care what the pasted font was. The default font in Word is Times New Roman. Look on your toolbar at the top of the screen in Word and you should see the font and size listed. That is where you need to make the change.

Is Outlook changing the emails over to Plain Text vice HTML text? When you open the email, is there a little grey box near the top that reads, "This message was converted to Plain Text"? If so, click the box and choose "Display as HTML" - which should then show your formatting.
