Looking for a reliable source for good aftermarket inkjet cartridges. I see a lot of vendors on eBay, but not sure about quality. I also see online vendors like Carrot Ink, Simplyink.com, and 4inkjets.com, etc., but angain, not sure about quality.

Would appreciate some recommendations.

Thank you,.....marc

People in the printer repair business just love refilled ink cartridges and remanufactured toners.

People in the printer buying business just hate ink cartridges that cost as much as the printer and that last long enough to print out a whopping 10 pages.

I am also interested if anybody has any suggestions. There is absolutely NO reason why printer ink cartridges need to cost nearly as much as they do, other than to pad the printer companies profit.

We've used the syringe refill method in the past to save money, but it can be messy.

I despise inkjets. You ever wonder why the printer costs $50? Its because they're making the money on the ink. Take away the ink profits and you'd be whining over the printer costing $300. I believe Kodak has a printer that costs a little more but the ink costs less. At least that's what their ads suggest. Check it out. As for me, I use a monochrome laser that runs forever on a toner cartridge. Its fast, looks good, and doesn't sit around clicking and banging forever like an inkjet does when I use it. I take my digital photos to Costco for printing. I'll get a color laser some day but I'm done with inkjets.

I LOVE my Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901. $300 but Staples has it regularly at $200 and sometimes they run a printer recycling program for trade ins. I just lawnshopped somones old printer they were throwing away for another $50 off. Not sure when/if they do the printer recycing thing again. The carts are $5 each and Staples gives me $2 for the empty one.

Answering original question: I used Itrimming on ebay a number of times. The carts are typical quality for this stuff but Itrimming was always fast reliable shipping. Note I have NEVER had an OEM cart as good as a mfg cart and I have used about 5 suppliers before I bought the Lexmark.

edit sigh. OLD post. Ugh I gotta read.

yep, they sure do and for good reason too!

Aftermarket third party ink is "penny wise and pound foolish" to be sure!

I buy my cartridges from Cartridge World. We have a local store in Knoxville, but you can order on-line if there isn't one close to you.
Cartridge World - World Leader in Printer Cartridge Refilling

Their prices are lower that Staples, Office Max, etc. I've never had a problem with their products in over four years.

I've used Carrot Ink for years and had only one problem in '03: their customer service was great and they sent replacement product based what I said on the phone. Sent it overnite express.

I think their ink replacement is high quality; has never caused troubles with any of my printers.

Ok a $64 question that might help all....

I use Canon printers finding that 3rd part ink is a ticket to plugged print heads.

Do other Canon printer owners experience the same problem?

(List your printer brand with the same question so we can all find what inks work best with each brand of printer)

Canon owners what say you about 3rd party ink????

(who knows? we might find a 3rd party brand that works with our brand of printer)

Game on!!!!!!!

I used to buy ink from Cartridge World, but learned how to play he game at Staples for the real deal.

I now pay a lot less for my ink by waiting for deals (currently, Staples is running a $6. Refund per ink cartridge recycle, limit 10!).

I took in 7 empty ink cartridges, bought new ink, and will wind up getting my black refill for free! + an additional $6 bucks!
