I would start by entering each term here Google and reading through the results. Looking at your previous posts you really need to do your own homework, do not have us do it for you.

Is this GIS? Layer file references another spatial data set and stores information on how it is displayed. Coordinate system.. If you're studying/working on a GIS I suggest you learn what that is. Good luck!
