Hi,
My wireless connection keeps coming and going and I wasn't having any problems yesterday. It keeps doing this like every 20secs. Any suggesstions on how I can fix this without having to buy a new laptop? To add more, the fan starts to make a noise and after that noise the connection ends. I am trying out aluminum foil to increase the receptivity of the wireless signal. But still nothing.

I have had similar symptoms on two of my laptops, and corrected both by updating the wireless drivers. Both were Intel wireless cards.

Problem with heat?

We bought those "mats" that have fans in them and sit under the laptop to cool it. Run off USB and they really do keep them cooler.

Although it does sound like a laptop problem because of the fan issue, is the disconnect happening everywhere you go? Have you tried using a connection other than your usual one? I ask because I had a similar problem that turned out to be caused by my router.

Guess we are going to be given symptoms one at a time.
