MaryBeth, I can't speak for anyone else, but I have AVG installed on two computers with Vista. It works fine. No different than with XP.

Yeah, that's what I was saying...was it you that told me that AVG works with Vista, oh this post? I think it may have been you. But since then I have meant to download it but just havent gotten to it. I know AVG. It never let me down. So far this AVASt hasnt caused any trouble but I just dont know what to expect.
Thanks again NightBazaar!

It probably was me who mentioned it. In your previous post, you said you didn't think AVG works with Vista, so I just wanted to reconfirm that it does. Again, I can't speak for anyone else, but I've had no problems with it.

I like majorgeeks because it is a trusted site and it always tells you what OS's will work for a given program.

I have VISTA.....I use Norton, but I get it with my internet service for free. Also I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(other posters recommended it) it's free and Microsoft Security Essentials...free also...here's the link>>>>>

Also I use IE 8 works relatively better than earlier versions....IMO.....

CCleaner is popular which I have used for a few years. For defragging your hard drive they have Defraggler. Both work with Vista, both are free.

I also like Download Auslogics Registry Defrag and Download Auslogics Disk Defrag . Both work with Vista, these versions are free.
