Did you see he Office Max flyer this week?

OfficeMax - Weekly Store Ads

It's shy on info but you can go to Amazon.com and get the specs. I did some searching and this is one heck of a good price. I am recommending it to a client who is hiring someone to do marketing.

I was looking at a little heaver processor for doing photo editing.... Still a good price. Or Office Max closed 2-3 years ago. I would have to go to Orlando. Speaking of that which is better to by from HP or go online or big box store for your purchase.I see so many great deals. I also here a number of people that have a negative comment on the bright view screen where theirs very little frame. Then some say 16-17-18 inch use more battery power... Very daunting task to figure which way to go...
For me my usage: on-line reading exploring ~communications e-mail ~heavy photo editing ~ and "Free" WiFi. Prefer not to buy a air card and all the hassle.... That's my use not a gamer.... to old

My wife is using her laptop now with her back to our south-facing windows. The south side of our house is basically all glass. She says it has glare, but workable. Bright day, but not full sun.

Heavier processor? Dude that's dual core! Unless the software you are using will take advantage of the two extra cores a quad won't make much difference.

Faster CPU and max RAM with 64 bit Vista will crank it up a notch. Just be sure the software you use is happy with 64 bit. Most is, but it never hurts to check. 64 bit because it will access more than about 3 1/2 GB of RAM, which is the 32 bit XP and Vista limit. A lot of the new machines will take 8GB and a 32 bit OS won't access it all.

Watch for Front Side Bus speeds. The higher the number the better. Also look for a 7200 RPM SATA drive, which will add speed to the system.

I try to buy either locally (in case there is a problem) or through online retailers I trust (in case there's a problem). amazon.com and newegg.com are my two most-often places to purchase online. If you have a problem serious enough to require a unit be sent in for repair it doesn't matter where you buy it because it's getting shipped out.

Larger screens do use more power, it's the nature of the beast. I purchased an adapter for my car that plugs into the lighter. My wife spent most of the trip back from Omaha Friday on her laptop, plugged into the car.

I should have said T7450 processor and I'll stick with the Vista Home 32 bit do too compatibility issue and at least 3g of ram and 7200 250gb hard drive with read / write DVD w/ light saber.. and the "n" bluetooth.. with a wireless mouse.
One article I read several months ago stated we could see 8 core or more processors by 2015. And could be in the 1 or more Terrabite size...

Just priced it threw HP with 64bit T7450 processsor 4g of ram and 250 7200 HD with DVD w/ligth saber and "N" blue tooth $987
