I’m seeing a new IE8 is out ~ anyone who is using it, and what if any are the improvements? I’m stuck on FFox and liking it for now.

Stay stuck on FF. I don't trust IE at all, no matter how much false advertising they put out about how "secure" it is.

I upgraded to IE8 on my Vista machine and have been splitting my time between Firefox and IE. It's OK. It's a browser. It does what it's supposed to do I guess. I still like FF because it has NoScript but I've read that IE8 is even more secure than IE7 (which was a big improvement over IE6) so at least they're hopefully making progress in the front. Most people are going to keep using it because that's what comes with Windows so it needs to be as secure as possible.

I use IE on many machines and on several of mine when I need to. I put IE8 on a few of them while it was in Beta testing. From a user's perspective, it looks almost exactly like IE7. I never had it crash or do anything really strange like one might expect from a Beta. I've started carrying it around on a flash drive to install as needed, now that it is officially released.

Yawn! another attempt from M$ to keep up with the rest of the world. I know it's out there, but could care less as I will not give up the versatility, security, and customizable FF.

For the occasional site that really needs IE, version 7 running in a FF tab serves me well.

Thanks for the info, it's rare that I need or use IE, however the upgrade is free at this time. If there's no (known) problems at this time ~ then I'll download it but continue to favor my FF.

Yawn, firefox is getting more bloated by the release. And then you bloat it up even more adding extensions and whatnot. Do you really need to post this every time a thread about IE comes up?

Why is it that questions about IE8 are answered with comments about FireFox? Many people have legitimate reasons for using IE. Some IT shops do not allow users to choose other browsers, for example. It is a new release and is definitely worth discussing without sidetracking to other issues.

Yes

IE8 16,883,056 bytes, more than twice the size.

And can you install security add-ons like NoScript on IE bloatware?
