Half death to xp (operating system, quad core, Vista, working)

Come on they need to drop support for this half crocked os.
Its cheap, annoying, lacks security, always the first to be exploited, im one of the few i bet that hate xp with a passion i much rather use vista, which i am.
I have never had any issues with XP and I have used it for 8-9 years. Vista may be good eye candy but a memory hog, which is why I rather stay with what I currently have. Plus, alot of the older software I still use won't run on Vista anyway.

I'm in the other camp. We are in the process of migrating to Vista at work, and it is so much slower I can't believe that anyone uses it. It's horrible. I won't be switching at home, that is for sure.
It seems that the general opinion is that Windows XP has become the best operating system that Microsoft has ever released. I was slow to start using it and stayed with Windows 2000 for a long time, but I've grown to like working with it quite a lot. Besides, it provides me with employment.
I ran Vista for a couple of months, and got sick and tired of the Nanny OS, and played "mother may I?" with far too long.
Upgraded to XP, and everything runs better and faster. I have a high-end box, quad core, lots of RAM, SATA II drives, high-end video, etc.
I invested in this to run my applications fast, not just so I could run a bloatware OS that tries to second guess everything I attempted to do. Vista is too stupid to 'learn' my preferences, simply keeps nagging and nagging, and nagging. Of course that can be disabled, but there goes the so called advantage of so called advanced security.

True, but then it complains because you turned it off!

I haven't had any differences in stability between NT4, 2000, XP, and Vista. Win7 64 bit beta is equally stable on my wife's PC. Yeah, XP's getting pretty long in the tooth and I'm so used to Vista I miss features when I'm on XP.

So far I've been happy with Vista. I was not at first because I was working on underpowered computers. Once I set up my own with the proper hardware (which includes a 5 year old Leadtek mobo!) it runs like a watch.
I have an Intel Mac and I run MacOS 10.5 and I have a XP partition. Best of both worlds. I don't foresee becoming a full-time Windows user again.
