I've told you I'm happy you are happy with Vista, yet you continue to "doh lookie at that fool that can't access all 4 gig". Well he probably doesn't have 4 gig, and you don't need 4 gig to spend your life on facebook, or downloading porn. Memory is not the bottleneck on my system, peripherals are, primarily disk drives and optical drives.

My interface with any OS, is to launch an application, and to shut the system down, 99.999% of the time I'm interfacing with applications. The OS is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I like XP, deal with it. If ridiculing anyone's choice makes you feel like a better person, well knock yourself out, but keep remember you can't insult the person that places no value in your opinion.

He does indeed have 4GB. Did you even read the thread title?

Well call him up and ridicule him, he certainly has earned your wrath.

Things that happen when you're in a hurry.

I got on the wife's' laptop this morning and went looking through the View menu in Vista. Yesterday at the clients I was so intent on finding the entry Thumbnails that I didn't try any of the entries. Well now I know not only is thumbnail available it's available in multiple sizes!

Icon substitutes for thumbnail now.

LMAO at me!

^^^^^ I've got 4GB for XP. Why? Because I wanted the max available to the system. So what if I can't access all 4GB? Am I supposed to just stop at 2 or 3GB because of that? Not me.

While the OP in the other thread got a bit of a surprise he still has the max RAM available for his system. Sounds like the right thing to do.

I use Xp on most of my computers, I don't use Vista on any of them because it is a resource hog.
I also have a couple of very low power computers running XPe. I have had zero reliability problems with XP, the last time I had a XP computer crash was when I had a failing power supply, that computer has been running 24/7 since I replaced the power supply.

I have touchscreens computers that have been running 24/7 for years without a hitch. I have some touchscreen computers (Fujitsu Stylistics) that even have 2000 on them that have been running 24/7 without a hitch for 7 years now.
