I'm glad you got 1 of 2 of your 2 PCs working. Thats something.

You might want to consider External USB enclosures for your Hard drives, to plug into you Laptop. I think newegg.com has some good ones.

PS: I don't totally hate Linux either, just not fond of it. Personally I like Mandrake, but will look into that Mint distribution next install.

Thanks
You say next install like it is a scheduled or regular thing. How often does one do this to stay with the game? Frankly I've been using win98 on a Futureware with a 333 meg celeron processor for ten or more years and I've only moved to laptop and the opther tower because I got a virus and it started the downfall of the system. It was that Russian one selling fake antivirus.
I love the laptop and I'd be happy with the win98 if it never broke. But since I'm in again, you never do get out do you, I'd like to keep abreast of things and not fall any further behind than I am. I know nothing about anything since 03ish when I moved and lost the techtv channel which I now understand folded. I can't even text! Not that I'd want to and I shut off my cell for good in 02, but it would be nice to not be a martian when it comes to this tech stuff.
