If I am watching video and don't touch the mouse pad.
I have had the screen saver set to none and set to default with 330 minutes before activation which doesn't change it. I've looked at all the other Personalization settings Vista Home Premium and cannot find anything I think will change it.

Also the cursor seems to go invisible even after I touch the pad if it has played video for a while. I had to shutdown hard yesterday. It is there as you can see the links it runs over highlight as it moves very randomly, but I can't seem to control it or get it to come into sight. I'm wondering if it mightent be a mousepad issue or defect the machine came with. The cursor does tend to randomly jump to another location but I thought that is because I inadvertantly touched it with my other hand. Now I'm not so sure.

Although this is probably not the problem since you also have an errant cursor, but could your hibernation or power-saving features be on?

Another thought, do you hear anything prior to the screen going dark such as the fan revving up?

Great! Another example of a question getting answered and the OP letting us know!

Chuckling because you're right .. more often than not an OP poses a question and gets tons of replies, but we never hear from the OP ever again :-) Being the curious sort, I'm always wondering about the final outcomes of problem-solving!

The ones who never answer have been eaten by Cluthu, as a sacrifice to the computer geeks who created him.
