Also, August 20 is the last day to download the Windows 7 RC.
If you have a dvd or a friend with a dvd, you can still download a key after 8/20.

Hmmm
I have 1 dvd copy of each, 32 bit and 64 bit.
Might burn a backup.

It may be possible, but CD usually likes to limit Sticky threads to two. A moderator may have more accurate information than I.

I don't think it really needs to be a sticky, the subject of the OP, the Windows 7 pre order offer, is expired.

Is there any word on an official name for this OS, or will it still be called Windows 7 at the release? Like how the last version was called longhorn in testing, then they called it Windows Vista for the release. Just a random Saturday morning thought.

Windows "7" is too nice a name to pass up.

You don't throw away a number like "7".

The 586 chipset did not sound as good as "Pentium", so they changed it for something that meant pretty much the same thing. It is all about marketing.

W7 suonds better than "Windows Unicorn", or "Windows Dust Mite".
