After all the discussions we have had about various virus protection products, both free and commercial, I'm very puzzled about this post. What purpose is there in posting this link besides increasing the number of posts over your Reputation number?

I love avast, it does more tests than Norton and AVG, plus it's 3x quicker.

I downloaded it and in order to remove any threats, you have to pay. So, I don't see where it is free.
I also don't understand the OP, I thought you were saying it was good and now you are saying it isn't? Just wondering as I am looking for a good security software program. My computer keeps trying to push McAfee on me and I hear it is the worst.

I would recommend ESET NOD32, I think it has a free trial version. It's caught several nasties for me. I recommend routinely running Malwarebytes to get rid of the usual spyware you get online. Lastly get the Firefox browser with Adblock and Noscript plugins, these should keep you pretty safe when you are surfing.

I use AVG Free edition on all my computers. It has always worked well at my house. It has stopped whatever virus has tried to get in.
