Just to clarify, the MSI Wind netbooks we have are all Intel based. Haven't tried the AMD ones yet.

But all the MSI Wind netbooks we have have been excellent toys.

Here's an an interesting link to OS X compatibility:

Since the MSI's CPU performance is only slightly better than an Atom CPU, I would personally lean toward the Acer model instead.

By way of comparison, a standard Intel Core 2 Duo ULV ... easily beats them all.

If you plan to buy the Acer on the internet, you may want to consider buying the same notebook rebranded as the Gateway EC1803H. The Canadian price is roughly the same ($499 Canadian) and you get 1GB more memory. I assume the free shipping also applies to the USA.

You also get a free upgrade to Windows 7.

I ended up w/ the HP dv2-1030us. It's only 12.1 inches, has a plug in disk drive and only weighs 3.8 lbs. So it's almost as small as a netbook, but it has 4gb ram, 320 gb hard drive and free upgrade to windows 7!

Thank you guys for the help.
