Can someone pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase help me try & burn an audio CD. It's for my boyfriend, he burned me 2 CD's already & I don't want to keep him waiting for the one I promised him already.

My computer is from 2006, it's a laptop Sony VAIO & I've tried burning with Windows Media Player & iTunes & each time I fail miserably. I purchased 4 diff. CD's, all were CD-R's (Maxell, Fujifilm) & then this weekend I went to Best Buy to go get a CD-RW & those didn't work either...

I don't want to purchase any CD burning programs but I did download a free trial of Nero but EVERYTIME I BURN, I get a message saying: Please Insert a Disc into Drive & it drives me NUTS!!!

I don't know if I don't have a necessary program on my comp to burn or if I need to download some type of "something"...I'm just so frustrated & I really just wanna burn the damn CD...can anyone please help me???? Like a surefire way to either format the damn CD or a RELIABLE burning program that is free (probably non-existent)???

THANKS.

My VAIO is pretty old compared to the newer versions, I know it has a DVD-RW (E drive. I don't know if it has a burner but I have watched DVD's on it before. I got it in May 2006, I have a Windows XP.

i wish you had a mac. PC's are so confusing!

while i'm trying to find out how you can see if you have a burner in your machine, flip it over and read the stickers. see if you can find either the Model # or if it says anything about a burner.

Not confusing at all, the OP stated they had a DVD-RW, this is a DVD burner.

Go to "My Computer" right click the DVD drive and select properties, is there a recording tab?

Put a blank CD in the drive, select a few of your mp3 files, right click and select send to, then E: and see if it burns using the XP wizard.
