I hope I can explain this and make sense. lol I have a wired home network on a Linksys router connected to a 768/128 cable internet connection. On the network is 1 desktop, 1 laptop, and 1 xbox 360. We would like to have a wireless connection for the laptop, but for the sake of the 360 we'd also like to keep a wired connection, as well.

So in my mind, the perceived solution is to connect a wireless router to my wired one so that it will broadcast a wireless connection for the laptop, but the desktop and xbox could remain wired. Is that possible? Is it difficult to do? Will it degrade the quality of the connection for the xbox, laptop, or desktop?

The wireless router will have ethernet ports to be able to hook up the connections you want to keep wired. You will have the ability to run wired and wireless with a wireless router, so, just get yourself a wireless router, and get rid of the old one.

I don't know how I didn't notice that when I looked at the wireless routers recently. Thanks.
