On his radio show today, Clark Howard specifically called out Newegg as a place to be careful not to always buy from as a "channel shopper." While they may often have the lowest price on an item, that's not always the case. Newegg counts on people not shopping around and just buying items from there without comparison shopping.

If I have a choice between a few bucks more at newegg over a retailer I'm not familiar with, it'll be newegg that gets my business, most often when I price shop they have competitive prices.

I buy other places, but have not been disappointed with NewEgg. Never have felt overcharged.

I do price compare and bought my new Gateway computer from Newegg as they were $50 cheaper. I've bought from Newegg a couple of times (after price comparing) and I'm very satisfied.

Like others, I've never been disappointed with a purchase from Newegg, and I also shop other places.

While there is some good advice from Clark Howard, it is well worth keeping a healthy dose of skepticism about what he says. I've seen 3-4 times that something seemed awfully good in his segment on HLN's Morning Express, so I sent to his website for more details. No more details; just lots of questions with no answers. Don't get me wrong, his advice is probably 99% good.

Sorry, NHDave, I just can't resist letting everyone know about these sales. BTW, how's the Wii? Mine is coming today.

I have been purchasing from Newegg for years, both for clients and personally. Everything from CD's to full systems. Never had a problem or a complaint.

I price compare when I shop online and do venture out to other places to purchase, usually with good results. I will pay more at Newegg because of the comfort level. and I find them to be very competitive.

My main source for online buying are Amazon and Newegg.

Same here. I typically get the more expensive electronics from newegg and smaller stuff from Amazon.

I just put together a new system and bought all the parts from newegg. Unfortunately I don't have any more money to partake in these deals.
