I don't like it that Intel is combining the GPU with the CPU. Leave the GPU tasks to separate video card like ATI and Nividia. I was looking into the next generation Intel processors and they're doing this, but if I bought one I'd still use a separate Nvidia Video Card. I like Nvidia for gaming because it has Physycxs or so...

you're in the minority though; intel is building a chip that most of its customers will find useful.

it will be a great product for laptops/netbooks.

i'm putting together a hardware list for my next HTPC, and it will most likely be an i5 w/ integrated graphics. i want a micro-atx form factor and need all the slots free for tuners. no sense in wasting a pci-e for video when i don't have to.

Any true hardcore gamer would use both for the time being, but incorporating the GPU into the CPU as an all-in-one component is a step forward for mobile devices like laptops.

Besides, this type of configuration has been around since what, 2006, although as a shared configuration instead of an all-in-one.

Personally, I like the idea of Sandy Bridge. Well, if it lives up to the hype. The only real downfall is that Apple won't pick up on it for a few years...

Intel could take a good look at the old PowerPC chips made by IBM and Motorola if they really want a power boost.

Yeah, I mean it would most likely be for integrated graphics, at least in the beginning.

This is good for Intel and a lot of regular users who don't need powerful graphics.
