Hi!
I am about to get a 9AM to 5PM job offer from a company in Norwalk, CT. I currently live in Astoria, NY and I was wondering if commuting everyday by car would be an option for me. Does anybody know the quickest way to get to Norwalk, CT from Astoria, NY early morning? Anybdoy has had that experience with traffic in the rush hour? Thanks in advance!!

Astoria is over 40 miles from Norwalk. In addition to having to deal with bridge traffic to cross the East River, you will have to deal with I-95 traffic heading into Stamford. Without traffic the trip would be about an hour, with traffic I am guessing at least 75 to 90 minutes. Not something I would want to deal with everyday. Jay

Well, the good news is you'd be driving AWAY from the city instead of to it, which probably means a bit less traffic. If I remember correctly, from Astoria you can pick up the Whitestone bridge. If that's the case, once you're over that you're on the Hutchinson Pkwy and once you cross into CT this takes you right into Norwalk. Your other option is the Throgs Neck Bridge - you can either pick up the Hutch or stay on I95, but traffic will probably be heavier. Either way you'll need at least an hour, if not an hour and a half.
