I have seen other posts which made reference to out of control taxes.
I've responded to a later post regarding this same property (G461088). Here is the tax information from our MLS:

$24,500 Assd Land Value
$55,440 Assd Bldg Value
$79,940 Assd Total Value

Taxes for 2006 are $3,174 ($1587 due on 07/01/2006 and 01/01/2007)

The agent entered the new assessment ($153,100) onto the listing but left last year's mill rate (which will go down as a result of the revaluation).

Thank you for the response about the correct assessment and the correct calculation of the tax amount. The listing agent still has the wrong information on the estimated taxes. Don't know when they will correct it; maybe when the listing does not sell. I am still hoping to return to Connecticut. I noticed that the new assessment and taxes are phased in over a period of time. In Florida, we are suffering from high taxes. There is legislation pending to reduce taxes, but it does not help recent buyers whinc are faced with tax bills which are being calculated at .0235 of the sales price in Broward County.

Now that we've passed the magic date of 07/01, the agent should be able to go in and have the new mill rate populate the field. The assessment is a user-input field that will have to be done manually by the agent after the revaluation.
