Hi All

I have been accepted on a 6 month secondment to Stamford with my firm from the London office. I orginally thought it was to the NY office but it has turned out to be Stamford, so I will be working and Living in Stamford. Not sure exactly where at the moment. I am 25 and wondering are there many young people in stamford, is there much to do and people to go out with in this area...? Do people visit new York often? is there much nightlife etc in Stamford?

Is there anywhere particular i should request to live?

I have seen lots of posts on schools and families moving to stamford but not so many about young, single people moving there....

Im not sure what to expect, so it would be good to hear a bit more about Stamford....

Thanks

Caroline

Stamford is a small upscale city about 40 minutes from Manhattan. It is the home to many major corporations and offices. There are a lot of youg professional there with a fairly decent nightlife for a city of its size. It definitely is not New York or London though. I would probably ask to live downtown since that is where most of the action is. Stamford is fairly expensive though so finding an apartment on a budget may be a problem. Good luck, Jay

I would add that Stamford is just 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan with convenient train service. Lots of people commute from Stamford to NYC by train daily, so you will have good access to NYC when its desired.

Thanks. I think my company is paying for accommodation so price isnt too much of a worry. My main concern is not having people to do stuff with, as i dont know anyone in Stamford or NY

Thanks
