Consider Trumbull. You should be able to find a home that fits your budget. It's quiet, completely family oriented, excellent schools, decent shopping, next to Fairfield and Westport, and is a straight shot down the Merritt Parkway to Stamford. I did the commute for 2 years, and it was so nice not having to fight I-95 and all the trucks.

I hate to say it but the traffic into Stamford from the south is not a lot better than from the north. It is not uncommon to see traffic backing up for several miles northbound in the morning heading into Stamford. I agree it is not as bad as from the norht but it still is difficult. Also, prices south of Stamford (Greenwich and Westchester County) are very high. That is why so many people live to the north and east. Jay
