Haha. I didnt even have to look at who bumped this. . This thread can go a long way for us. Its like a 2 season thread. Fall and Spring.

Yeah.. spent a couple hours splitting today. Im ready but day time needs to stop being in the 70s. I got my AC on now.

Wood stove is another couple weeks away. Perhaps next weekend we might need it though.

Next years pile.

Don't you guys ever just enjoy FRESH AIR?! It's either AC or heat! It's like you live in the north pole half the year and the equator the other half

Clean your furnaces and stoves folks. Looking more likely we may need them next week. Posting in the weather thread in a few.

When its in the 50s/60s in the day and 30s/40s at night, everyone needs heat. There's a number used with NWS to show "heating degree days" and they have a "cooling degree day" too. There's certain criteria's for it. I forget what it is off top of my head.

60s in the day you can get away with not needing heat but with windows and doors closed and a sun beaming down on the home. Otherwise you will have a chill inside the home and maybe a chilly evening when sun goes down.

That's what sweatshirts are for. The only time my heat has gone on in October was for that snow storm (2011?). It was on for a week and went right back off.

Subtract 20 deg from those figures for when Cambium turns on his heat! Ahhhhhhhh!

In all seriousness I am envious of your low temperature tolerance, except for the 5% of the time I'm in the Bahamas of course

Anyone have their stove or heaters on this morning?

Many areas of Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties in the 30s/low 40s. Danbury as well.

Keep those windows and doors closed should be ok until the sun starts warming things up. Mine are open and inside temp tanking. Outside in mid 40s!

I'm not in CT anymore but I read this thread because the MA forum doesn't have anything like it.

Here in MA it is cold. We need to remove the second window fan and lock that window for the winter. I am making roast lamb to have the oven on for warmth. The heat may need to go on in a few days it this keeps up.
