After recently using my electric sander (small handheld) to prep a window trim - I realized that some of the electrical outlets and some light fixtures in the adjoining room were not working. I have already checked to see if the circuit breaker was tripped which was not the case.

I need a electrician (wife doesn't want me play around with electric outlets considering my recent DIY history ). I would have tried to fix it myself if it were a single outlet but since couple of them are out - I wouldn't want to take a chance. I don't think this would take more than 2 hrs (at most).

Any advice on costs and/or suggestions for a reliable electrician would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

Extremely hard to say without investigating...first I would start by pulling out the dead plugs and switches... Then opening the panel and checking all terminals and make sure no neutral is loose...

I've had similar situations and it ended up being a connection that came loose behind a GFI in the 2nd floor bathroom. In this case I would charge by hour or just give 1 fair price in the end... Whether it has to be refed or I find the problem..

Unfortunetly you're too far from me and I don't have anyone to recommend up that way...good luck and post back updates

Thanks for the update! How much did they charge you or did you find it yourself?
