You are exhibiting that typical attitude that drives people away from New England. All full of assumptions. I have spent a total of 2 months down there over the past 3 years on 5 separate trips . Our 6th trip down will be next month. Fuquay is nice. I actually want to be even a little further out than that. What I don't like is the typical arrogant, pushy, snobby attitude that is a lot of Ct and the northeast in general. I want a slower relaxed life. I am not crazy about waffle house but have had some of the best meals of my life in the Carolinas. Best Thai food I ever had right on route 17 in Wilmington. Best breakfast I ever had at the Hominey Grill in Charleston. Rachel ray loved that place too. Roberts in Charleston has awesome seafood. There was a steakhouse in 5 points in Columbia that had one of the best steaks I ever had. You really don't have a clue if you think there is no good food in the Carolinas. Try expanding your horizons.

5 points in columbia and right on the other side of USC has some GREATTTTT food and bars..what an awesome place that is with some of the nicest people..

point people is missing is theres good and bad everywhere..stereotypes and bandwagons can be seen from every angle. people out of a certain state see positives and negatives...people in a certain state see positives and negatives...this forum along with every other forum is like the news..take it with a grain of salt and experience things for yourself instead of taking other peoples words for it..

when people go Hartford has such baddddd crime b/c they watch the news or read the newspaper..I dont believe it for a second b/c I live here and I know better. Same goes for every other major city. Watch the news and it seems bad..if you live there and no where to avoid you'll be fine. Same goes for all this other stuff. Food, arts, schools, etc. Find what you like, find where its at, and go there and enjoy. These types of arguments really get nowhere and people just start making assumptions and repeating the same facts over and over. I realize some people have a hazy view of how greattttt the south can be but there are plenty of people who just plain out like it. There are people tranplanting into CT who probably think one thing about the state and come to realize how different it is when they actually get here. Let people live, smile, and enjoy life. I should take my own advice sometimes but its hard, b/c there really is NO point to life...you have to MAKE your own point to life, and that is where the arguments come from..everyone is different and has their OWN ideas of what Quality of Life stands for. Just smile and live free my brothers and sisters and for god sake just let live.
