Does anybody have any reviews on the Tower Inn? Also, i am going on a date for 2 days next week and am looking for things to do (obviously cold outside) during the day in Madison/Guilford/Branford, etc. Thanks.

The weather makes it difficult to recommend things to do but if you like hsopping there are outlet centers in Clinton and Westbrook. You could take a ride into New Haven and poke around the museums there. If you are into gambling you could drive up to Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. There is the aquarium and seaport in Mystic and the Nautilus submarine in Groton. All of these are not far from Madison. Jay

Without knowing your interests and budget, it's hard to recommend anything.

That said, check out the RJ Julia bookstore in Madison. Trendy and artsy with usually something going on. It's both a bookstore and cafe- good place to browse and grab coffee. Main St. in Madison is very walkable , poke around the stores. There is a theater on Main St. in Madison too. It tends to offer artsy,Indie type films rather than main stream movies.

There is a cinema complex in Westbrook however for regular films.

If you like shopping,as Jay noted, browse the outlet malls in Clinton & Westbrook. Have lunch at Boom restaurant in Pilot's Point Marina in Westbrook. Right smack in the middle of the marina surrounded by water & boats, many of which are still in the water. If you're coming to the shore, enjoy the water, any season. The restaurant has an interesting menu.

Guilford town Green ( all 8 acres of it) is just gorgeous any time of the year. Surrounded by interesting shops, also very walkable , parking is right there and the shops are just steps from each other. Check out also the Guilford Art Center,a block or so off the Green. The Green and shops will be decorated for Christmas.

If you like antiquing, take a walk through the Clinton Antique Center on East Main St in Clinton. Malone's in town center, is a cute coffee shop /bistro to warm up in.

If you like scenery and taking a drive, head up CT Rt 79 from Madison center. Drive through Durham center ( very charming) and hang a left at CT RT 147 and follow it a mile or so to Lyman Orchards in Middlefield for a quick lunch. Couldn't get lost if you tried. Gift shop & store in there too. Gorgeous veiws of the rolling hills and Lyman golf course.

Nothing to offer on Tower Inn. have no personal knowledge of it one way or the other. It's in Guilford. Also in Guilford is a Comfort Inn.

Take a drive along Middle Beach Rd. in Madison and look at the waterfront mansions, drive down CT Rt 146, in Guilford through to Branford. Very scenic. Branford town center is also extremely walkable, with many restaurants.

Have fun !
