This is incorrect. The NYC Metro area includes all of Fairfield County, most of New Haven County, and the southern fringes of Litchfield County. It's basically the communities served by Metro North RR.

Can I just tell you how helpful this thread has been to me, as we are preparing to move from NJ (Bergen County) to NJ? It just reaffirms our choice that CT is the right place for us!

I did not realize CT taxes cars like property - that is one cost we did not factor in to our move! Thanks for the info!

This is why I started this thread which was to get important information that I could've missed in my own research and it did open my eyes to some things.

We temporarily have one thing in common and that is we both live in overpriced Bergen County, NJ.

I really hope that the move from NJ to CT goes very smoothly for you and yours
