Hi Sri - Monroe is a very nice suburban town located in eastern Fairfield County. It has very good schools and there is a lot of shopping (mostly smaller strip type centers with smaller stores) and restaurants along Main Street (Route 25) and Monroe Turnpike (Route 111). The homes there are very nice with larger lots (mostly acre or more) and there are a number of nice neighborhoods for families to live in. There are a number of very nice parks and a new library in town.

Monroe has grown tremendously over the past 20 years and traffic along its major roads (Routes 25 and 111) can be a problem. The expressway portion of Route 25 that connects down to the Parkway and I-95 ends in Trumbull just south of the Monroe border. As the major route to the employment centers of Fairfield County from the north getting to the expressway can be difficult, but once on it traffic moves very well. In general it is a very nice place to live and is considered a somewhat lower cost laternative to neighboring towns Trumbull and Easton. Jay
