i do know that while the trucks will be out in force as soon as theres sign of break in the snow (they wait till were on the tail end so they dont have to come out twice) roads are going to be insane in the bethel/danbury areas at least untill at least tomorrow afternoon...

dont know about tickets...but i do know its not going to be safe out untill the afternoon at the earliest...
ALOT of places in ffc and nhc have already stated there closed tomorrow, theres alot of people who would typically work even holidays who are getting the day off tomorrow and possibly tuesday depending on how things clear up.

it is beautiful...however having to shovel the path every 2 hours all day because the snow is taller than my dogs has been a little frustrating lol.

right now in 06801 were at officially 10 1/2 inches in the middle of the garden.

higher in areas of drift, but 10 1/2 inches seems to be the actual fallen amount on us right now. and lookig at the radar as it swirls, looks like theres plenty more to fall on the overnight.

I'll go clear things at first light. Tried twice but the way things work in my driveway as soon as I clear it the wind fills it back up. Night guys.

Here's the latest... You dont need to know what it means, just look at the east coast eye popper.

As far as latest technicals on this particular model: 968mb bomb off Jersey Coast will make it a Cat2 Blizzard with hurricane force winds and up to 2 feet of snow with moisture associated with this. It took the Low from California, dipped it into the Gulf, and rode it up the coast. LI could get mixing on this run. INSANE? lol Still early.

The characteristics of this would be that of the Blizzard of 1993.

Not exactly: the price comes in car wrecks, heart attacks, lost business and wages, town budgets, that kind of thing.

Wonderful.

That was my problem. It was piling up as fast as I was clearing it.

There's no point in shoveling until the wind dies down. My driveway has been cleared twice and it's covered because of the wind. Conditions are so bad that I'd have trouble making it to my corner. There's also no visibility.

I left around 5:30 AM to drive my wife to work and turned around after driving about a mile on 95. I could not see anything in front of me and vehicles were driving right off the road due to the lack of visibility - not even spinning out.

Snow day.
