I did a quick google search and came up with a place called Velvet(in Hartford)...you'll have to call for their policy on age.

With all due respect....don't you think you should take it into your own hands to try out some other numbers and bars.

Try calling any bar from a google search of New Haven and Hartford bars, and ask them if they know of any gay or lesbian bars. I'm sure they could lead you in a better direction then most people on here.

There are some publications you can check out. Start with either the print version of the Hartford Advocate, or try www.hartfordadvocate.com and see what they have listed for bars. They also have links to the New Haven Advocate too.

That's a good as place as any to start.

Gotham Citi Cafe in New Haven appears to get the biggest crowds from the GBLT community in that city. They don't do it every week, but occasionally they put a huge amount of rainbow balloons outside and have an entertainer standing at the door.

I quickly checked Tetto's link and it lists BAR in New Haven as being a gay/lesbian hangout. It isn't; it's more of a "laid back and drink a beer with people from Yale and SCSU" type of place; some people dress up and dance but most don't.

You could go to the Metro Store, 493 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT 06105 (same ZIP code as yours) to get a copy of the Metroline. The Metroline usually includes a directory section as does its online version: http://www.metroline-online.com/. Click on "Resources," then "Bar Guide."

You can try Triangles , Partners , Polo Club and Chez Est; all have hours for the under 21 crowd and night's dedicated to the ladies. Velvet is long gone tot he best of my knowledge it was a once a month party in the bar where Up or on the Rocks is located.
