I always find this list interesting since they rarely, if ever, have the same towns listed year after year. I also do not recognize the building pictured in the discussion on Trumbull. Not sure if anyone else does and could tell me what it is. Trumbull was a very small farming town up until the 1950's and the building pictured is pretty old and prestious. I think I would have recognized it. Could they have mixed pictures up? Jay

I think that's funny that they don't list the same towns year after year also. I think back in 2005 Tolland was listed as the 29th overall best place to live and then in 2006 it was no where to be found.

These lists seem awfully random. And out of all of CT, Rocky Hill would be nowhere near my top 10. Not that it is a bad town, but the best we have to offer? I don't think so.

Was it last year or so Tolland was the best town, then Colchester before that...these lists are fun to read but I put zero stock in them.

They probably already decide on how many towns/cities will be listed so they pick these places from a random drawing out of a hat. That's what it seems like.

I know Fairfield was on the list a year or so ago and it is not there now. Very strange. Jay

Fairfield was definitely top 10 last year. To each their own though, I know Overland Park, KS was top 10 last year also and I have family who live there. It's a perfect town for those who love suburban sprawl and nothing but chain restaurants.

The information was presented as it was.
We all have regional and town bias. Considering the many great places to live in Connecticut- these towns stood out.

Lets gives these towns their due-

I'm glad to see some CT towns on there...

As for the selection method - who knows! The #4 city last year (Cary, NC) is nowhere on the list this year! That is strange to me, to be very high on the list one year and completely drop off the next.

They might have a rule that a town can't repeatedly be on the list. It would let new towns enter the ring and keep the playing field from getting too off-balance. There are thousands upon thousands of towns in the country. To narrow it down to 100 seems very difficult.

All I know is... Money 2005 put Guilford at #78. I can dig it.
