dionigi, just thought I'd add my comment:

I agree with a couple other people who have said it seems premature to move to Greenwich. At the end of the day, if your wife does not have her part time job any longer, she may feel like a "prisoner" in Greenwich--even if she has a nanny to take care of the little ones. Greenwich as a commuter vs Greenwich living there without having to work full-time (and without knowing hardly anyone) is night and day.
Living in the city is just entirely different. Strangely enough, I went through a milder version of that when I moved from Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2006 up to Stamford. I don't stay at home--I have a full time job--but the lack of dining options, cultural options, vibrancy, excitement, and just options in general drove me crazy for a while, and it still bothers me from time to time.
Your wife (and you) may feel the same way if you move now. As for your kids, NYC is a perfectly wonderful place (and diverse) for your kids to grow up in, and experience life in a more realistic way than Greenwich's "fairy tale" surroundings.

Sounds like you really enjoy living in NYC and have a very nice situation. A former boss of mine used to say "Don't fix it if it isn't broke!"
