I'm debating on renting temporarily in the town of Wallingford.

Can anyone give me some input as to safety, schools, downtown area (if any)

I have a 14 year old HS Freshman. What are the schools like?

Any help would be appreciated as I'm fairly unfamiliar with CT.

Wallingford is pretty safe and housing are not expensive either.
Not sure about the school but heard Cheshire (next to wallingford) has very good school and the housing is also reasonable.

Other area to consider is Rocky Hill, Cromwell, etc They are 10-15 miles north of wallingford and safe area with OK school. The commute is nothing if you take I-91.

What pray4all said is correct. Schools in Wallingford are uniformly excellent as well. Nice downtown, with green and white steeple church, typical New England look and feel.

I am from Wallingford have lived here my whole life...........

School system is okay depends on what side you live on if you go to Sheehan v. Lyman Hall.................

Lyman Hall has a VoAg program so kids from all around the state come there and I am a proud grad of the school..............grew up on the Sheehan side of town!!!!!!!!!!

Has a prep school choat that will not even get into.........

As far as the cost of living its not cheap at all!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know who said it was but it isnt.........

I know I cant afford to live in an apartment by myself and I am almost 30!!!!!!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions.............
