Black Rock Tavern closed already and there's something else there now.

It's a bit on the expensive side, but I like Martell's on the Post Riad in Fairfield right near Sasco Hill Road.

For pizza, I love Pepe's in Fairfield. Tuscany in Bridgeport is really good for Italian.

I love the burgers at Bear and Grill in Fairfield. Centro is nice, informal low-key Italian right iff the Sherman Green in Fairfield. On the high end, I really like Paci at the Southport (Fairfield) Train station.

In New Haven: Louis Lunch. Get a cheese works (which means a hamburger, cooked medium rare on toast, with cheese whiz, onion, and a slice of tomato). Foxon Park white birch if they have it, cola if not.

Also in New Haven: The Modern Apizza on State Street.
Or: pretty much any place in Wooster Square, if you can find a parking spot.

In Milford: I actually like the Pizzeria Uno spinoccoli deep-dish pizza. It's spinach, broccoli, with mozz and feta, tomato chunks, and garlic. They're right near the mall. If Franks was still in the mall I'd recommend them instead but I never learned what happened to them when they renovated the mall. They had -the best- american-Sicilian pizza I've ever tasted.
