Too slow is a real problem on slippery uphill sections of road; you need some momentum to go up those stretches smoothly.

nothing sticking to the trees here in Glastonbury, nice amount of sleet on the ground, real light stuff brushed off my truck very easily. I guess south of me getting more ice? So far trees/power lines not stressing at all under any new weight of precip.

I think we dodged a bullet in this part of the state. Just drove from my home in West Hartford to work in Farmington...it was all sleet on top of maybe 3" snow...slow but no worse than yesterday morning!

Cambium

you posted this earlier for Sat.

"TIMING...ALTHOUGH SOME SNOW WILL BEGIN TO BREAK OUT FROM SW TO NE
AFTER 6Z SAT...THE HEAVIEST PCPN APPEARS TO BE DURING THE DAY ON
SAT ATTM"

what does 6Z and ATTM stand for. 6AM and afternoon I'm guessing?

6Z stands for "0600 hours Zulu time", which means 6am Greenwich Mean Time (London), this is how scientists describe time. Basically subtract 5 hours to get "our time" (and since you'll see it in 24 hr format, if you see a number over 12, just subtract 12, make it "PM", then subtract 5 hours.....like if it says 18Z then it's 18-12 = 6pm GMT, then 6-5 = 1pm here)

ATTM means At The Moment (if I didn't know any better, I'd think the NWS is run by a bunch of teens and 20-somethings LOL (and here I am a 40-something using one ).....I've never seen so much "texting abbreviations" in scientific discussions......a noted one you'll see on their discussions for example is WAA for "Warm Air Advection"

I hope so.....looks like the ice vs. rain line is right on the north shore of Long Island and around the Bronx-Queens bridges then bisecting Manhattan ATTM (see above).
